S.F. Mayor Breed and D.A. Jenkins tout jump in narcotics arrests, felony charges and drug seizures
San Francisco Mayor London Breed pledged Wednesday to crack down on drug dealing and “unacceptable” public drug use — nearly a year after making similar promises in a fiery speech on the Tenderloin.
This time, though, she was flanked by her handpicked district attorney, who has promised to work with police to get tougher on drug crimes amid an opioid and meth crisis that has killed more than 1,700 people since the start of 2020.
